The Origins of Techwood Con

Techwood Con started in the forgotten past of Georgia Tech under the more-or-less leadership of the residents of the long-gone Techwood dormitory. In those days it was, more or less, a dorm party. As time passed, and the Techwood dorm was bulldozed prior to the 1996 Olympic games, Techwood Con lived on as a weekend of gaming held on Georgia Tech campus.

Alas, as people graduated, Techwood Con waned until it finally slept. But then, in 2004, under the sponsorship of Anime O-Tekku (for which we are ever grateful), Techwood Con was reborn! And there was board gaming, and there was card gaming, and there was video gaming, and there was cosplay, and there was anime, and it was good.

Now, Techwood Con continues its new incarnation as a regional gaming event. The centerpiece of Techwood Con continues to be its out of control open gaming area. This year, Techwood Con is also taking a new step in moving off the Georgia Tech campus and into the classy Marriott Century Center hotel. As such we will have a full con suite (with free food ala Master Chef Paul, of course) and the revolutionary Role-playing Lounge for your enjoyment. Come meet fellow gamers and keep the wintry cold at bay with us!
