Directions to Techwood Con 2006 - Marriott Century Center

From I-85 Southbound

1. If you are coming on I-85 southbound, take the exit labelled "Shallowford Road". The off-ramp has several lanes. The second lane from the right is labelled "I-85 Access Road". Go straight through the traffic light in this lane to take the access road.

2. After some time you will see the Century Center office park on your right, with the Marriott hotel on the corner. Turn right into the office park and left into the hotel.

From the Atlanta Airport (ATL)

1. Leaving the airport take I-85 North.

2. I-85 merges with I-75, passes through downtown Atlanta, and then splits from I-75 again. Continue on I-85 North. You must be in the leftmost four lanes to stay on I-85.

3. Take the "Clairmont Road" exit off I-85 and turn left. (Do not get in the leftmost lane on the off-ramp; that is a U-turn lane that takes you in the other direction on an access road!)

4. The third traffic light is Century Blvd. Turn right. The Marriott is on the right near the end of this road at a four-way stop.

From I-75 Southbound

1. Take I-75 South towards Atlanta. Take the I-85 North exit. This is a left exit with an unusually tight turn; please be careful!

2. Take the "Clairmont Road" exit off I-85 and turn left. (Do not get in the leftmost lane on the off-ramp; that is a U-turn lane that takes you in the other direction on an access road!)

3. The third traffic light is Century Blvd. Turn right. The Marriott is on the right near the end of this road at a four-way stop.

Via MARTA (Atlanta's public transit system)

1. From a MARTA train station, ride the train on the Northeast line to the Brookhaven station. Northeast line trains bear destinations "Airport" (going south) and "Doraville" (going north). If you are on a northbound train going to "North Springs" you will need to get off the train at Lindbergh and wait for a Doraville train. If you begin on an East-West line train you will need to switch lines at Five Points Station.

2. From Brookhaven you can ride a bus to a location near the Marriott Century Center without paying additional fare, but unless the bus is already there waiting for you, it may be worth your time to just take a cab. Taxis often wait for passengers in front of MARTA stations, and it is not far from the Brookhaven station to the hotel. (It is, however, too far to walk.)

Our information is that the number 19 bus will take you close to the Marriott Century Center, but please ask someone at the station - or the driver - to be certain before boarding the bus. Bus routes can change, so our information may be out of date.

Once Inside the Hotel

1. As you enter the hotel lobby the front desk will be on the right side. Check into your room(s) here, and make sure they have you in the Techwood Con room block.

2. The con is being held in the Centennial Ballroom and its prefunction. Entering the hotel from the front door, proceed down the left side past the elevators and restaurant/bar down the corridor. The Centennial Ballroom is to the right just after the restrooms and service corridor. If you get to the end of the hallway where the Century Ballroom is, you just missed it - turn around and it's right there on your left.

Leaving the Hotel

1. Turn right out of the hotel parking lot. You will immediately come to a stop sign at the southbound I-85 access road. Turn right again.

2. To get on I-85 North: Get all the way over to the far left-hand lane, and keep merging left as lanes are added. The leftmost lane will take a U-turn under the highway. After the U-turn, stay left to merge onto I-85 North.

2. To get on I-85 South: Get in the second lane from the right. After the traffic light it will be the I-85 South on-ramp.
